The UN Global Compact Network Ghana Hosts the 2024 UN Global Compact Africa Regional Meetings

The United Nations Global Compact Network Ghana was honored to host the 2024 UN Global Compact Africa Regional Meetings in Accra at Alisa Hotel from October 30th to November 1st! 🌍

For three days, nine African Country Networks [Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius, Congo, South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt, Tunisia and Kenya] and four expansion countries [Angola, Botswana, Rwanda and Cote D’Ivoire] , the Africa Regional Head and representatives from the United Nations Global Compact Office, New York convened for this remarkable gathering, which fostered collaboration and shared strategies to drive sustainable business practices across the continent 💚

These discussions focused mainly on our growth in Africa, localization of global programs for the private sector in Africa, brand ambassadorship, the impact of our participants and many more

Mr. Charles Abani, United Nations Resident Coordinator and Ms. Lesley Arthur, our Acting Board Chair, gave their opening remarks and welcomed the participants at our meeting. Mr. Hervé Lado, the Africa Regional Head, also led some sessions which all participants fully took part in and made contributions which led to impactful discussions.

Together, we are committed to accelerating Africa’s progress toward the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
